Join us on an aromatic journey to the Crimson Hills of East Africa. Our Crimson Hills blend is a tribute to the region's powerful teas, enhanced with a bold, exotic fruit note.
The base is formed by two outstanding African black teas – the robust Rukeri from Rwanda and the elegant Kaimosi from Kenya. This powerful foundation is enhanced by the tangy freshness of lemon peel, the juicy sweetness of pomegranate, and a subtle hint of natural rum flavor, creating a complex, invigorating experience. A blend that perfectly combines strength and passion.
The base: East Africa
The heart of this tea is formed by two distinctive black teas: the robust, malty Rukeri from the 'thousand hills' of Rwanda and the elegant, slightly citrusy Kaimosi from the Kenyan highlands. This combination provides a robust foundation that effortlessly carries the intense fruity notes.
The composition
A complex interplay of flavors unfolds from the powerful black tea base. Natural fruit flavors of pomegranate and lemon provide a lively, juicy finish. A hint of natural rum flavoring lends the blend a warm, exotic depth. Visually, the tea is rounded out by vibrant pomegranate pieces, yellow marigolds, and orange safflower blossoms—a sight reminiscent of a sunset over the Crimson Hills.
Ingredients: Black tea (Rwanda, Kenya), lemon peel, natural cranberry flavor, pomegranate, marigold flowers, safflower flowers, natural rum flavor.
Flavor profile
This tea glows with a deep, ruby-red infusion—fitting its name, "Crimson." The flavor is initially dominated by the robust, full-bodied black tea base. This is immediately followed by the juicy, slightly tart sweetness of pomegranate, complemented by the tangy notes of lemon. A subtle hint of rum unites the components and provides a warm, lingering finish.
Preparation recommendation
For full development of aromas:
- Dosage: 12–15 g of tea per liter of water (approx. 3–4 g / 250 ml cup)
- Water temperature: 100°C (boiling water)
- Brewing time: 3–5 minutes
Depending on the brewing time, you can emphasize the intensity of the black tea base (longer) or the tanginess of the fruit (shorter).
