Get ready for "Chungwa Pop" – a tea blend that lives up to its name. "Chungwa" means "orange" in Swahili, and "pop" perfectly describes the explosive freshness that awaits you in this cup.
This blend is a masterful balance of robust black teas from two continents and a stunning symphony of sun-ripened citrus fruits. It's a true wake-up call for the senses, lively, tangy, and full of energy. A tea that instantly banishes bad moods and brings the sunshine into your cup.
The basis
The foundation of this blend is a true cross-continent blend. The robust, malty Rukeri black tea from Rwanda provides the robust, full-bodied backbone. It is complemented by the noble Keemun black tea , which contributes a subtle, smooth complexity and a slightly smoky elegance. This base is strong enough to carry the intense aromatics without dominating them.
The composition
The heart of the fragrance is a multifaceted citrus orchestra. Tangy lemongrass and delicate lemon verbena meet sweet orange peel. The blend is refined by an incomparable palette of natural citrus oils and aromas: lemon, lime, grapefruit, mandarin orange, blood orange, and a hint of noble bergamot (familiar from Earl Grey).
Almost all of the ingredients in this blend come from careful, nature-conscious cultivation, with traditional methods at the forefront.
Ingredients: Black tea (Rwanda, China), lemongrass, orange peel, natural lemon flavor, lemon verbena, natural orange flavor, lime oil, natural grapefruit flavor, natural bergamot flavor, mandarin oil, natural blood orange flavor.
Flavor profile
A firework for the senses. The first sip is an explosion of freshness: zesty lemon and lime open the tasting notes, closely followed by the full, juicy sweetness of orange, blood orange, and mandarin orange. The slightly tart note of grapefruit and the floral elegance of bergamot add wonderful depth. Underneath lies the steady, warming malt note of the black tea blend, ensuring a round and lingering finish.
Preparation recommendation
To unleash the full aroma:
- Dosage: 13 g of tea per liter of water (approx. 3 g / 250 ml cup)
- Water temperature: 100°C (boiling water)
- Brewing time: 3–5 minutes
Tip: At 3 minutes, the tangy, bright citrus notes dominate. At 5 minutes, the robust, malty tea base becomes more prominent, perfectly balancing the fruit.
