Our 1kg Bushera Oburo flour is the perfect base for a nutritious and delicious millet drink (called uni in Kenya and Tanzania) and ideal for making traditional millet bread (karo) . Bushera is a traditional thirst quencher, especially popular in East Africa, while karo is a staple food that reminds many of childhood and home. Bouillie dumplings and deep-fried millet balls, also flavored with honey or peanuts, can also be made with it.

Preparation tips
For the Bushera drink:
- In a pot, mix 4-5 tablespoons of Bushera flour with some cold water to a smooth paste
- Bring about 1 liter of water to a boil in a separate pot, stirring constantly. Slowly add the bushera paste.
- Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer gently for about 5-10 minutes, stirring constantly, until the desired consistency is reached
- Sweeten to taste and serve warm or cold.
For Millet Bread (Karo):
- Use millet flour as a base for traditional recipes . It can be used alone or in combination with other flours.
